ATN Universities Executive Director Luke Sheehy to take up leadership of Universities Australia
19 December 2023The Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN) Vice-Chancellors have today announced the resignation of Executive Director, Luke Sheehy, as he moves into the role of Chief Executive of Universities Australia (UA).
ATN Chair, Professor Harlene Hayne CNZM, congratulated Mr Sheehy on his new role with UA and thanked him for his enormous contribution to ATN during his time as Executive Director.
“Since joining ATN in 2019 Luke has shown strong leadership, a collaborative approach within the sector and political landscape, and provided timely and insightful policy guidance, helping to advance the impact of ATN’s advocacy and deliver significant benefits to member universities, with the expansion of memberships one of his key achievements,” Professor Hayne said.
“Luke’s strategic and collegiate approach within the sector and governments from both sides of politics, will stand him in good stead in his new role.
“On behalf of ATN I’d like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Luke on his new position at UA and wish him every success in his future endeavours.”
A recruitment process to appoint a new ATN Executive Director will begin in the new year.
