The Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN Universities) has today provided feedback to the consultation paper on the implementation of the Australian Tertiary Education Commission (ATEC).
ATN Universities Chair, Professor Harlene Hayne CNZM, said it is rare that the sector comes together with a strongly aligned view and a united voice.
“We are delighted to support Universities Australia’s position that the ATEC needs to focus on a new vision for the sector by building on the principles which were set out in the Universities Accord,” Prof Hayne said.
“We look forward to working with Government to ensure that we have an ATEC which lives up to the ambitions of the expert panel led by Professor Mary O’Kane AC, and which will support universities to deliver positive outcomes for students and communities across Australia. I stand with my colleagues across the sector who have said firmly that we need to take the time to get this right.”
