ATN universities launch new, subsidised short courses to prepare the future workforce, offering Higher Education Certificates and Post-Graduate Certificates to help workers boost the skills needed in the post-pandemic economy.
ATN universities (University of Technology Sydney, RMIT University, University of South Australia and Curtin University) have worked with industry partners to develop these courses across seven priority areas including health, engineering, IT, education, society and culture, architecture and science.
The courses have been created in response to the Government’s recent announcement of funding for higher education and are designed to help workers stood down or displaced during the COVID-19 crisis. They will be delivered online from July, full-time and will help Australian workers re-train, re-skill or venture into a new industry.
“For those Australians that have lost their job, or are on reduced hours, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills or build on those that they already have” said ATN Executive Director, Luke Sheehy.
“These new short courses will help to alleviate pressure on industries that need the most support such as aged care.”
“ATN is working with industry partners to ensure employers and employees have the skills in priority areas to support Australia’s growth and prosperity in the years to come.”
This initiative will provide the foundations to strengthen and rebuild our economy.
“ATN is proud to bring our innovation and industry links to the development of these new courses, which we hope will lead to broader education reform” said Mr Sheehy.
