ATN Universities ready to deliver national science priorities

The Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN Universities) welcomes today’s release of National Science and Research Priorities by the Federal Government, with member institutions ready to deliver solutions to some of the biggest global challenges.

ATN Universities Executive Director, Dr Ant Bagshaw, said he was particularly pleased to see that Minister for Industry and Science, Ed Husic, had placed even greater emphasis on Indigenous knowledge.

“Our universities deliver world-class research with real impact. ATN member institutions play a critical role in the research landscape given their focus on applied research at the cutting edge of industry needs. They are already leading in many of the research and innovation agendas central to the Future Made in Australia policy, and they will make further contributions to the nation under the National Science and Research Priorities,” he said.

“ATN Universities further welcomes the priority given to Indigenous knowledge systems and further empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to advance the research that affects them.”
