The Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN) warmly welcomes the announcement of Professor Andrew Parfitt as the next Vice-Chancellor of University of Technology Sydney (UTS) – a founding member of our group of innovative and enterprising universities.
Professor Parfitt brings a wealth of experience in higher education leadership and as an accomplished academic and innovator in the area of radio communications, with a special focus on space.
Professor Parfitt possesses a deep and comprehensive understanding of UTS, and its extensive capabilities in teaching and research as a leading university of technology, having served as Provost for nearly five years and currently as Acting Vice-Chancellor.
He has held executive roles with University of South Australia and The University of Newcastle and previously served as CEO of CRC Satellite Systems, Senior Principal Research Scientist and General Manager of CSIRO Space Programs, and a member of the Australian Government’s Space Industry Innovation Council.
ATN congratulates Professor Parfitt on commencing this new chapter at UTS and looks forward to continuing to engage and support UTS and its important agenda.
