As the nation’s leading university grouping with connection to India, the Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN) believes the finalisation of the Australia-India Migration and Mobility Partnership Arrangement will deliver a range of educational and economic benefits for both countries.

ATN universities have long been the number one destination for Indian students. In 2023, Indian students have represented the biggest number of new starters across ATN universities and constitute almost one in five of all Indian students in Australia.

ATN Executive Director, Luke Sheehy, said this latest bilateral agreement will benefit university students, and others.

“ATN universities have the biggest engagement with India of any university grouping in Australia. We lead the way in research partnerships and teach the most Indian students,” Mr Sheehy said.

“The Migration and Mobility Partnership Arrangement is a shot in the arm for graduates, researchers and business.

“We congratulate both Prime Ministers on providing these pathways and look forward to working with both Governments.”
