Dr Christian Bason
Co-Founder Transition Collective and Adjunct Professor, UTS
Dr Christian Bason, a leading expert in transition design and societal innovation, recently accepted an adjunct professorship at UTS. He co-founded the Transition Collective and previously led the Danish Design Center and the Danish Government’s MindLab innovation unit.
With a background in political science and design leadership, Dr Bason’s work has evolved from public sector innovation to guiding long-term societal transitions. He focuses on complex global issues such as migration, urban development, and sustainability.
Dr Bason has also served on the University Board of the Royal Danish Academy and is a member of the Advisory Committee of the University of Copenhagen’s Queen Mary Center, which fosters collaboration between universities and practice for societal and economic impact.
At UTS, he aims to explore leadership models for transition design, foster collaboration, and drive societal change through transdisciplinary approaches, drawing from his extensive experience with international partnerships.
