Professor Andrew Parfitt
Vice-Chancellor and President, UTS
Professor Andrew Parfitt is the Vice-Chancellor and President of UTS. In this role, he leads the strategic positioning of the University, enhancing its external profile both in Australia and internationally.
He plays a pivotal role in developing and communicating the University’s vision and inspiring the UTS community to work collaboratively towards its strategic goals. He works to secure public and private resources necessary to achieve the University’s goals and ensure UTS fulfills its public purpose to benefit society. A key figure in shaping public higher education policy in Australia, he actively engages with government, industry, and the community to advance UTS’s mission.
Prior to UTS, he held leadership positions at the University of Newcastle, the University of South Australia, and the CSIRO. With a distinguished career in telecommunications engineering, Andrew is known for his contributions to antennas, radio systems, satellite communications, and space engineering. He is a Fellow of several institutions including the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering, Engineers Australia, and the Royal Society of NSW.
