Troy Tobin’s journey in visual effects began seven years ago when he joined Rising Sun Pictures (RSP) as a Senior Developer. With a deep interest in the creativity and immersion that VFX brings to storytelling, he quickly embraced the industry, applying his expertise to enhance and refine artist workflows. A graduate of the University of Adelaide, Troy holds a double degree in Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic) and Bachelor of Mathematical and Computer Science. Throughout his career at RSP, he has worked across all aspects of the VFX pipeline—integrating tools, developing new capabilities, and optimising processes to support artists.
His dedication and technical leadership led to his progression to Research and Development Supervisor, where he has been instrumental in overseeing the development of RSP’s machine learning toolkit, REVIZETM. Under his guidance, the ML team has grown from two to 15 people, and REVIZETM has been successfully deployed on 26 projects, including Elvis and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
